Contra Costa County Public Works will begin construction of the Bay Point Trash Capture Installation project on Monday, October 14, 2024, and continue through Tuesday, December 10, 2024, barring unforeseen circumstances. Work will take place on Willow Pass Road between Ambrose Avenue and include the intersection with Alves Lane. Work will occur between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday (excluding holidays), weather permitting. Lane closures along Willow Pass Road will be in place during construction activity at Alves Lane. Drivers should expect delays of up to 5 minutes during construction.

Traffic control will be used. Restrictions will be in place to minimize impacts during commuting hours. Message boards will alert drivers about the work. Drivers should expect delays through the construction zone and consider alternative routes during working hours.

This project is intended to prevent debris from flowing into our waterways. The work consists of excavation, shoring, installation of debris-separating baffle boxes (DBSS), and pavement restoration. For Earthmoving in Hervey Bay, partnering with experienced professionals ensures precision and efficiency in managing excavation tasks. Moreover, incorporating top-quality ready-mix cement is essential to ensuring a reliable foundation, especially for projects in bustling urban areas. Whether it’s a minor renovation or a major development, ready mix concrete delivered right to your site in London is an absolute necessity for timely completion.

Funding for this project is provided by a Caltrans Storm Water Resources Control Board Grant. More information about this project can be found at www.contracosta.ca.gov/Bay-Point-Trash-Capture.

The installation of debris-separating baffle boxes is just one of many upgrades planned as part of the county’s broader environmental sustainability efforts. By intercepting litter and pollutants before they reach local creeks and the Delta, the Bay Point Trash Capture Installation project represents a significant step forward in protecting natural habitats and improving water quality.

The project also involves several coordination efforts with utility companies and subcontractors to avoid service disruptions to surrounding homes and businesses. In fact, a commercial remodeling contractor has been enlisted to help ensure the integration of the trash capture systems with surrounding infrastructure, especially where installations impact commercial frontage or require access modifications for nearby businesses.

Residents and business owners in the Bay Point area are encouraged to stay informed through project updates and traffic advisories, which will be posted regularly on the Public Works Department website. Community members with questions or concerns can contact the project’s information hotline listed on the site.

Contra Costa County thanks the public for their patience and cooperation as this vital environmental infrastructure project gets underway.

There is a lot of trash in Bay Point to capture! Not sure the project is big enough.

Bay Point.
.
That area in itself is trash. Seriously doubt this project will change anything.

Not as trashy as Antioch and Pit(t)s-burg.
