Contra Costa County Public Works will be applying pavement surface treatment on Kirker Pass Road, between North Hess Road and Buchanan Road, starting on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, and continuing through Friday, December 6, 2024, barring unforeseen circumstances. Work will occur between 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Monday through Friday (excluding holidays), weather permitting.

Traffic control will be used with restrictions in place to minimize impacts during commuting hours. Message boards will alert drivers about the work. Nighttime work is expected on Kirker Pass Road. Weekend work may also be required, weather permitting. Drivers should expect delays of up to 15 minutes through the construction zone and consider alternative routes during working hours.

The project is intended to enhance existing roadways and extend the lifespan of the County’s roadway network. Funding for this project is provided by Gas Tax (SB1 Road Repair and Accountability Act).
