The new Dollar Tree (formerly the $.99 Store) on Clayton Rd. in Concord has been open for a few months now, so we have to ask the question.

… hate is too strong of word but “avoid” comes to mind …. boxes all over, kind of dirty, merchandise not stocked, etc.
Thanks for the report. I was going ask if it is stocked. Apparently Newscum Meanimum Wage is causing these stores problems as it’s the same at the Martinez store. I go there to get something that should be there and it probably is sitting some box in stack of them in the aisle. These are simple part-time jobs for some folks and they don’t require much of any training. The last 4 years established idiocracy in the US.
Geez the conditions at Dollar Tree are Newsom’s fault too? That guy is very busy apparently. 🙄
I like the wide aisles. The people who work there are nice. I don’t understand who goes through and messes up the merchandise on the shelves. Also, many of the aisles do not have cohesive merchandising where the crafts are in this aisle, the toys in this, the holiday decor in this, electronics here, pet stuff here. I hope it becomes more organized soon because things on the right side of the store as you face the rear are mixed up now.
It’s horrible! I was there on two occasions and only one checkout stand was open. Both times, there was a nasty, rude young guy giving orders to the poor woman working the checkout. The line was wrapped around the store and he refused to open another checkout because he was on break. I just about lost my mind!!! He was rude and lazy!! This store needs better management and more employees. If not, then it should be closed down! I get how it’s a quick stop to pick something up, but to deal with the way it operates is absurd! The way he was talking to the woman was toxic, harassing and down right unacceptable!
Still miss the Thrifty Store that was there with the .15 ice cream cones!
Wife and I stopped in this afternoon, disappointing.

They told me they were locking the doors at 930 although open till 10,to stop “the last minute shoppers”
