The following is from the Martinez Police Department:
On March 7, 2025, at approximately 6:38 p.m., the Martinez Police Department received several calls regarding a two-vehicle collision near the intersection of Alhambra Avenue and Elderwood Drive/Glenview Drive. Simultaneously, the Pleasant Hill Police Department also received several calls about the incident. Pleasant Hill PD and Martinez PD responded to the scene of the collision. First Aid was administered until personnel from the Contra Costa Fire District and AMR arrived on scene and took over care. One of the involved drivers succumbed to injuries at the scene of the collision, while the other driver was transported to John Muir Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. A fatal vehicle collision investigation is underway. At this time, it is unknown whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the collision. The Martinez Police
