Happy Friday to all the wonderful citizens in the City of Claycord.

Cowellian’s first
I bought the world’s worst thesaurus yesterday. Not only is it terrible, it’s terrible.
I just noticed again that the more you look at certain words in print, the more they look completely impossible to be right… “terrible” looks wrong the more you stare at it. Or is it just me?
lol😆 …
BUT then you got me thinking again about words… meanings… why! Why are Fudge, Smudge, Judge… almost the same word. It’s as if they have something — I have no idea what — in common. There are lots of words that are: practically the same…but entirely different.
Someone should write a dictionary that goes by Sound-Alike, instead of Alphabet.
Some English words even have roots in Sanskrit going way back. More obvious ones are banana and bandana. Many of these carried through into Hindi which is sort of dumbed down Sanskrit which has 11 tenses.
ban ana … banDana… oh geeesh … here I go again.
Joke
Walmart is opening a dental office in its stores. There will be an express lane for people with 12 teeth or less. 🤣
OK, SERIOUS QUESTION. Concord, Did anyone else wake up very early Friday morning … wondering what that (very nice) odor was? It was striking! Not something you just notice and forget. Not a ‘smell’ but more of an easy-breathing sensation … to me it was like OZONE super clean … kind of like your laundry room… or like when you first walk into a Dry Cleaners Store.
I checked… it was faint, but it was outside too, I thought. Then… like most odors, within minutes, I just got used to it…or it went away.
… clean air? …. with the “stuff” blown away by the winds we had?
Some of that too. But no.

Shady Maple Smorgasbord

East Earl, Pennsylvania
Oh Geez G!
That “Shady Maple” place looks awful!
Food looks like it all came out of a can.
Greasy slop served in a bare bones cafeteria.
No wonder there’s no time limit, not many going back for second helpings I’ll bet.
They ought to change the sign… delete A,D & Y from SHADY and add I and TT
But maybe I’m not being fair… I’ve never been there & food may not look appetizing but it could be great for all I know, I’m just blathering my first impressions.
If I went there tho, I would not be surprised to see employees moving the line along wit cattle prods.
When I was young and broke, quantity over quality was the goal.
Now I can afford(occasionally)quality.
Eating at home can give me both.
They’ve been around since 1985 and for that price, might just
go on my bucket list.

LIKE your post, there are are too few of us with ability to have an
alternative perspective on the world.

At any rate, I’m off to walmart to people watch.
Really need an elevated observation deck . . . .
Sorry, I really should mellow myself down a bit…
My tendency to blurt things out is what cost me my job as a Michelin inspector.
“blurt things out”
.
Wonder, is that why my boss was always saying, “I was a bad influence” ?
.
After a particularly weird left field idea was blurted out,
by a boss or engineer, I’d say, . . . . You want to, . . . DO, , , W H A T ? !!!
.
(an with an ear to ear smile) I’d say, . . . “OK ! !,
as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone,
doesn’t break anything and doesn’t cost us prime product.
Who am I to deprive you, of the experience, of once again
coming to the realization of how wrong you are”
.
An at conclusion of the endeavor, would sit down privately one on one
with ’em, calmly going over what original goal was, what was done,
outcome and possibly what variables might have brought about
a more desirable outcome.
.
I mean what the heck, with 30 – 45 years of seniority,
what are they going to do ? ? Offer me a buyout ? ? ?
.
Unfortunately when I retired there were still bosses and
engineers, who lacked being sufficient Reeducation.
.
Had one upstart electrical – software engineer who made the statement,
“I’ll have you know I have college degrees”
Reply: A thermometer has degrees and ya know where they
stick it sometimes . . . . . Truly, A Kodak Moment . . . .
.
There were, on rare occasions a few exceptionally fortunate
engineers and bosses with the great gift and advantage,
in that they hit the, Parent Lottery.

What was rewarding over the years, was people watching.
And MAKING the time to LISTEN, when people needed to vent,
just sit there and listen.
Whether there’s a time limit or not, you can only eat so much until you’re full. Unless you’re planning on sitting there all day, it’s not any different than any other buffet. You pay, eat and leave when you’re done. The food looks less than desirable.
The dang thing won’t open ! ! !
