The Bay Area Air District has fined subsidiaries of Kinder Morgan, Inc. $226,990 for air quality violations at fuel terminals in Richmond and San Jose, officials announced. The penalty addresses eight violations issued in 2022 and 2023, including gaps in tank roofs, exceeding storage limits, vapor leaks and a gasoline spill, officials said. All violations have since been corrected, the agency noted. Under a new Air District policy, a portion of the fine will support pollution reduction and public health projects in impacted communities. Kinder Morgan operates pipelines and fuel terminals across North America.
How long before Kinder Morgan, Inc. decides California is not worth
the hassle. California already helped U.S. Steel decide their PROFITABLE
steel plant in Pittsburg, that had been around since 1910, was no longer
worth the hassle.
.
Now refiners have made it very clear what they think of California and it’s
woke green agenda, and it’s ever changing regulations and laws as well
as it’s political instability is not worth the hassle. Can’t wait to hear who
His Imperial Majesty, Emperor newsom blames for closed refineries and
$9.00 a gallon gasoline.
.
His Imperial Majesty, Emperor . . . . . think, Emperor Norton,
https://www.foundsf.org/Emperor_Norton
so…where does that $227K go? does it pave our roads? improve our schools? make life better??. It says
“a portion of the fine will support pollution reduction and public health projects in impacted communities” does that mean imposing fines on others?
Well Kinder Morgan will be the next to bail out of Cali …… doesn’t anybody have ANY business sense left in Sacto, BAQMD, or BAAD?
“business sense”, Simple answer is NO,
they are self absorbed mirror worshipers with little to zero
consideration as to possible long term negative effects
of their actions.
.
Their world consists of being surrounded by fawning sycophants
and a drive to OUT GREEN the rest of the world. Eventually to a point,
of democrats possibly becoming unable to win elections at any level
of CA government, certainly state offices ? ? ?
.
Think of it as similar to long running “tax the rich” refrain.
France did just that and the rich moved to Belgium.
CA politicians attacked the rich with taxation, the very people
with the absolute ability to move out of California.
.
Estimated percentage of CA’ REFINING CAPACITY lost from announced
refinery closures varies from 20% to 22%.
Daily demand in CA per day of gasoline is roughly
35 MILLION GALLONS.

This from His Imperial Majesty, Emperor newsom The First.
” “I can assure you, beginning last night we had all hands and we’re in
the process of addressing any anxiety that may be created or any
market disruption that may be created by that announcement,”
reassured Newsom.”

REALLY ? ? ? “beginning last night”
.
Enforcement,
Two vehicles showed up at company gate DEMANDING entry
looking for A SPILL from a processing unit. Turned out, puddles of
standing rain water from 5 days of rain. NO, sorry we screwed up,
merely piled back into vehicles and without a word departed.
.
As to fines being assessed in CA to businesses, in many cases
is little more than a shake down of businesses with deep pockets,
and has metastasized into some might call an out of control
cottage industry. May be a method of increasing regulatory budgets.
.
In a passing conversation with an unelected bureaucrat during an inspection,
many years ago at former work place, it was not IF they were going to find
violations, but how big the fine was going to be.
.
Those entrusted to running government are in desperate need
of responsible ADULT SUPERVISION .
.
California politicians FAFO, they’re utopian green agenda just blew up in
their faces, can’t think of a group, more deserving of the consequences
of their actions.
Known polluter Kinder Morgan got away scot-free with only a $227K fine. I’m sure that any pending federal actions against this company will be dropped, given the proclivities of the profoundly corrupt Trump administration.
