California Attorney General Rob Bonta announced felony charges against three people accused of running an identity theft operation linked to an organized retail crime scheme across the Bay Area.

The suspects, Anthony Limas, Johnny Nicklas, and Steve Randy Nicklas, allegedly used stolen identities to open store credit cards and purchase more than $100,000 in merchandise from high-end retailers and Harbor Freight locations between March and July 2023. A 34-count felony complaint, including charges of organized retail theft, grand theft and identity theft, was filed, federal prosecutors said.

Officials said all three defendants face charges involving 13 victims. “I am committed to using the full force of the California Department of Justice to fight organized retail crime both in the field and in the courtroom,” said Bonta. “This was not a one-off shoplifting offense, it was a malicious, coordinated scheme. These crimes hurt our businesses and pose a serious threat to our communities.”

Good job LE! now Bonta / Becton…. throw the book at ’em! no revolving door and easy bail out!

Stupid criminals, doing crimes before a CA governor election.
.
Seem to recall, before the then California Attorney General moonbeam
became governor, CoCo county did very excellent work investigating a
gasoline pump skimming gang and HAD AN AIRTIGHT CASE.
.
Problem was gang’s activities spanned, multiple additional counties.
.
Then all of a sudden just before a gubernatorial election,
CA’s then AG takes case away because of the multiple county
involvement. Shortly after there was an absolute torrent of
press releases along with loads of free TV face time.
.
NAW,
history can’t be repeating, . . . . . .
it’s just not possible . . . . .
.
WAIT FOR IT !
