The Contra Costa County Public Works Department will be conducting a routine full inspection of the Robert I. Schroder Pedestrian Bridge (Bridge) located at the intersection of Treat Boulevard and Jones Road. These inspections will be conducted nightly starting on Monday, May 19, 2025, through Friday, May 23, 2025, barring unforeseen circumstances. Work will take place between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., weather permitting. This work has been scheduled to avoid commuting traffic. Temporary traffic control measures will be in place. Drivers and pedestrians should expect 5–10 minute delays. The Bridge will be closed to all traffic during these hours, as well as some road lanes and sidewalks. Lane closures are planned along Treat Boulevard. Iron Horse Trail users may experience disruptions and are advised to follow marked alternative routes. Nearby residents and businesses may notice bright lights during inspection work and hear typical construction equipment noises, such as back-up alarms.
