Public opinion from the residents of that city SHOULD have influence! The elected or appointed city officials SHOULD represent their constituents…. isn’t what a democracy is? The US broke off from the UK for this reason, and others, etc. (freedom of religion, representation for taxation, etc.)

A lot. Can’t leave these guys to their own devices, they’ll screw everything up.

When it directly effects the area lived in there should always be public input, if they choose to listen or not is up to them I guess.

Depends on how public opinion is measured.
.
Polls are often skewed via demographics, sample size, age, affluence,
job held, special interest groups, etc.
.
What sway would public opinion have against edicts from ABAG
and their WOKE AGENDA ? ? ? ?

.
Best way to make your views known, is to provide city with active,
ADULT SUPERVISION of those making city decisions.

100%

The officials are our servants not the other way around. Let them know that!

Seriously? This should not be a Question, It’s supposed to be Government of, by, and for the people!
