Congressman Mark DeSaulnier (CA-10), a senior member of the Education and Workforce Committee, announced he will host a virtual Education Town Hall on Wednesday, May 28 at 4:00 p.m. This town hall comes in the wake of President Trump’s Executive Order attempting to dismantle the Department of Education, which administers the federal student loan program and funds resources for students with disabilities, among other important priorities. To discuss how the Trump Administration’s recent actions will impact students around the country and in CA-10, Congressman DeSaulnier will be joined by Lynn Mackey, Contra Costa County Superintendent of Schools, and Allegra Fischer, Senior Policy Attorney at Disability Rights California. The Congressman and panelists will also take questions live. To reserve your spot and receive a Zoom link or to request special accommodations, visit https://desaulnier.house.gov/town-hall-rsvp or call 925-933-2660.

I am so tired of DeSaulnier and all the liberal Democrats who keep trying to push their failed social policies on us! I finally have hope in America again, and yes a golden future, since we really have set their evil agenda back quite abit.

So ‘dismantling’ means student loans and assistance for students with disabilities is no more? Or is that some type of scare tactic when really they want to get rid of the federal agency and give more control to the states?

Do they pay him to stand there and BS people? An appearance fee i mean? if so,it’s his only real reason to go anywhere and do anything.Nobody could actually believe in anything he says.

May be his last prattling for this topic, if they can dissolve the Department of Education. Federal government has no business in states’ education, whatsoever.

I would go into hiding too if I were as feckless and worthless as democrat old Mort DeSouair.

Mark loves to continue advancing Democratic fearmongering! Student loans will not disappear. Another government agency will administer them. Like a “real” company, the government is downsizing and becoming more efficient. It happens every day in the private world. The only difference is that we now have a President who understands how business is done. As another cartoon character puts it, “That’s all folks!” On another note, it would be nice to see our elected representative in Washington once in a while, where he belongs, instead of here doing town hall meetings. Try getting some real legislation done!
