Yes, only if the minimum standards are higher & more disciplined than they are now … more emphasis on “core” and STEM subjects, reinstating PE minimum standards, and “trade” type classes – less on the liberal arts agenda

Sounds reasonable, how this concept that parents have no say in THEIR children’s education is insanity…they are there to teach not parent!

Leave it to the educators. But the parents are welcome to homeschool theirs kids to control the curriculum and environment.

And in exchange I’ll gladly accept a reduction in my property taxes.

I support it. It is fair

Start using text books from the 1950’s -1960’s

Wow! That’s actually a good idea!. Kids coming out of that era with a high school diploma are more proficient and smarter than today’s college diplomas.

I’d love to see CPR taught in high school and
self defense for girls.
My son was taught how to do his taxes in class
this year and I was floored.

I would prefer the parents rather than the legislators and maybe 50% of the educators. That said, there are a few parents from when my kids were in school where I would be wholly opposed to what they would want taught (focus mostly on art, music) and they would be opposed to what I would want taught (focus mostly on biology, economics, physics).

Yes!
And we also support the voucher system that will allow us to choose .

We will get to a good place when the question is… Should Parents have LESS control over school curriculum?

Talk to the average parent
and you realize they shouldn’t
have control over anything.

Teach reading, writing, science, math and basic humanities and cultural skills.
That’s what we got, and somehow the planet survived.
