Joke
I saw two huge black birds in my garden this morning and they were stuck together.
Turns out they were
Velcrows.

Heard a commercial today, and the voice actress was whispering and it reiterated in my mind how much I cannot stand whispering like that. Not sure why, but it really grates me. How is this for an inane post?

Im glad that sewer pipe work on willow pass rd is done, that was a pain in the A**.

Ha ha ha… You reminded me…..
Monday, will be the FOURTH MONDAY since I came here to bi*** and moan about the City TAX Crooks ripping out the ADA curbs that had Nothing Wrong with them.
That first 3 days several shovels and sweepers worked around the backhoes and loaders and huge rubble hauler trucks, while the obligatory three or four men stood and watched those who actually worked. They ripped out both corners, and hauled away the rubble, framed for concrete on one corner and strung hazard tape on cones. period. Started around 9am…gone, done, all quiet, cold beer time before 3pm. It appeared that they were skipping up and down the street…a bit of work on this corner..a bit of work a couple streets up… and so on. what I call hit’n’miss work….No sign of them Thurs or Fri that first week.
The following Monday, (It must have been taco Tue–nobody worked) Wed and Thur they poured new concrete on One corner, and added the bumpy yellow steel plates…so at last we found out WHY they had to spend our money to Destroy the ADA corners that were not in need of repair. (Bumpy yellow steel plates.)

We are on the almost edge of the outer edge of Concord. NO painted crosswalks. NO stop signs. NO Cross Traffic, even. I would guess this is One of the most dog-walker, jogger, biker, stroller, kids on trikes streets in town… But on the .0001% chance that a blind person might come along and have zero clue as to WHY there were grooves warning of a sloping in the pavement, or a wobbly grandma who might NOT benefit from a slippery-when-wet bumpy metal thing in the ‘dip’ in the pavement…. priceless.

But, to continue. The THIRD week, Monday, they framed #2 to prep for concrete and Tuesday poured- and laid a ‘half-size’ steel plate on #2 corner. (did they run out of the big ones?) TWO days, total 6 hours. Later in the afternoon One lone man with a short bubble level (like I use to hang pictures🙄) stopped and measured to see if the slope on (2nd) corner was EXACTLY the correct degree of pitch. I wondered if he noticed that they had not put the “get ready for a dip” warning grooves in the new concrete on corner #2 that they had put on corner #1… I didn’t point it out to him (do you think I should have?)
Measuring took him about 4 or 5 minutes. Plus he rehung the tape that had blown down and locals had tried to re-tie a few times over the three weeks. Another two day work week.
I’m hoping that this, the FOURTH WEEK since they ripped the sidewalk corners out, will be the time when they replace the asphalt edge on #2 side of the street and call the job D-O-N-E.
3+ full weeks since they dug the corners up, that 20″ wide 6″ deep by 25 foot long chasm around the corner still waiting for the asphalt truck… —- Toddlers with training wheels and People with white canes…beware, the tape and a couple pole-cones are down again.

… reminds me of all the street repaving patches on local streets – reminds me of a 3rd world country …. ex. Bancroft from Minert to Hookston. …YVR east from San Miguel past Oak Grove.. repave it correctly like Treat Bl.

You’d have to visit some real hell-hole third-world places to match the awful condition of our streets.
Some that look ok at first glance…give their secrets up when you watch car lights at night, shining through the window, bouncing up and down the wall.

I am enjoying the new clever headlines on Claycord.com

Yes, that’s worth sharing…….thank you.

Rest in Peace Rick Derringer. Rock and Roll Hoochie Koo…

Aww bummer!
He was one of the great ones.

In Rick’s honor, it might behoove you to take a look at the “Hang On Sloopy-Rick Derringer Video” that’s on YouTube.

You’re welcome.

Yesterday (in Ricks’s honor) I youtubed “Hang on Sloopy” first, then “Rock and Roll Hoochie Koo.” But thanks anyway!

Sounds like you missed the good one.

If you’re referring to the VH1 video where she’s dancing, yes, I’ve seen it. More than once.

Almost saw him in concert. Had to work.
That’s my meager contribution to Derringer lore.

Cool movie but the book was better.
