Cal Fire and local fire agencies in Vacaville are planning to conduct a 110-acre prescribed burn on the south side of Interstate 80 from Monday to Thursday, officials announced. According to a press release issued Friday, the prescribed burn will happen in grass and woodland areas off Nelson Road, south of Lagoon Valley Road. When all conditions are met, trained wildland firefighters will conduct the burning each day, starting at 9 a.m. As exposure to wildfire smoke is hazardous and may cause acute respiratory and/or cardiovascular symptoms, the Solano County Public Health recommends the public to stay indoors and keep doors and windows closed, wear an N-95 mask, and change clothes and wash exposed skin after going outside.
