On May 23, 2025, the Concord Police Department conducted a DUI enforcement patrol. No drivers were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence during the operation. The department reminds the public that impaired driving isn’t limited to alcohol. Prescription medications and over-the-counter drugs can also impair your ability to drive safely. Always read warning labels and follow usage instructions—especially those advising against operating heavy machinery, which includes driving a vehicle. While medicinal and recreational marijuana are legal in California, driving under the influence of marijuana remains illegal. Drivers charged with DUI face an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties, along with a suspended license. Concord Police will continue to conduct DUI enforcement patrols throughout the year to help ensure the safety of all road users. This operation was funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Why do they announce when and where is will be happening, so they can take a different route? It’s for a “look at us.don’tcha just think we’re great?” moment.AnD it results in people not getting caught for DUI.Terrible strategy, and don’t they look for DUI’s at any other time?
DUI patrols have to announce their location for legal reasons. Otherwise, I doubt they’d announce it.
Police should redirect the resources to catch child predators. That would be a much better use of our tax dollars!
people finally getting better at drinking and driving.
like any skill, it takes practice to perfect.
