Late last night, Concord Police Swing Shift officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle. Upon arrival, they discovered a man asleep behind the wheel with drug paraphernalia clearly visible inside the car. A subsequent search revealed methamphetamine, heroin, marijuana, and a loaded, unregistered firearm. The driver, identified as a convicted felon and registered sex offender, was taken into custody on multiple felony charges. The case is being forwarded to the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution. Concord Police did not release the man’s name.
