Oak Grove Near Ygnacio – No Drive-Thru, No Problem, Chick-fil-A Still Coming To Jam Up Your Waistline

Chick-fil-A is officially coming to Walnut Creek (again), with signage now visible at the construction site on the corner of Oak Grove Road and Citrus Avenue. This development confirms Claycord.com’s earlier reports about the restaurant’s plans to open at this location.

The new 5,363-square-foot restaurant will replace a vacant former bank building in the Citrus Marketplace Shopping Center. Unlike many Chick-fil-A locations, this one will not feature a drive-thru, a decision made to address community concerns about traffic congestion. Instead, the restaurant will offer dine-in and takeout services only. The Walnut Creek City Council approved the project in May 2024, following a lengthy public hearing and an appeal from a local resident. The approval came with conditions aimed at mitigating potential traffic and noise issues, including the prohibition of a drive-thru.

While the signage indicates progress, an official opening date has not yet been announced. We will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.

Another Chick-fil-A?!
This place is so over rated.
I went there once and got a chicken sandwich for like $5 and it was like an inch long.
Nothing special either.

We need another In-N-Out!!!

And Aunt Barbara, if you want “healthy” food I’d suggest you eat at home.
Who was ever serving health food in the first place?
Where are we to bring it back from?
I think CFA’s success speaks for itself but I will point out that the consistent quality of the product and efficiency of the extra polite staff plus the reputation CFA has as an excellent employer that truly cares for it’s employees, puts this fine company on par with In-N-Out and a cut above all the others.

The only reason McD’s didn’t get the approval a few years ago was because of the planned drive-thru ….. now I really question if this specific location will make it due to no drive-thru …. my fortune cookie says after the initial splash of business they’ll go flat – there’s already so many chicken places in the area & there’s one already on Main St & one on Diamond Bl… and Popeye’s on Clayton

Starbird is awesome and located close to Rocco’s and Whole Foods.

Enjoy the view while it lasted.

I’ve never been to one of those places.
I never had a reason to, and I don’t have a reason now.
