Bay Area Air District Issues Advisory Due To Smoke From Canadian Wildfires

The Bay Area is under an air quality advisory on Monday and Tuesday due to wildfire smoke drifting through the region from Canadian wildfires. Smoky and hazy skies are expected, and air quality may become unhealthy, according to the Bay Area Air District. The smoke stems from wildfires burning in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba provinces. If possible, residents should stay inside with windows and doors closed until smoke levels subside. Residents can reduce their exposure to smoke by setting their car vent systems to re-circulate. The use of indoor air filtration or going to a Clean Air Center or other location with filtered air, such as a library or mall, can also help reduce smoke exposure.

Are we sending firefighters there to help with their fires? We should – they sent help to us with our many fires last year.

It looks like it will be a while at least before we’re affected by the Canadian wildfire smoke. The Purple Air map shows good air in the West and the wind is coming from the North West. The areas currently affected appear to be Eastern Montana and the Dakotas on toward MN and MI.

Thanks for nothing BAAQD. Go away, we have the EPA. Plus AI/computer program can provide alerts based on data from all the sensors.

Another….blah, blah, blah post from an agency struggling to make their impact known on the citizens of California. Just wait for more bans…..coming soon.

Just like the PUC, control is everything.

Air Resiurces Board is appointed by the Governor. Another group of toads, appointed for their support of one of the worst politicians/governors we’ve had since Gray Davis.
