The former Black Angus Steakhouse property at 3195 N. Main Street in Walnut Creek, once a bustling dining spot, now stands as a neglected lot filled with garbage, discarded furniture, and debris. The site has remained vacant since the restaurant’s closure in 2019, following a fire and subsequent plans for redevelopment . Initially, In-N-Out Burger proposed building a restaurant with a drive-through on the site. However, the plan faced significant pushback from local residents concerned about traffic congestion and neighborhood impact, leading to its abandonment . Subsequently, a proposal emerged to replace the Black Angus with a 155-room hotel, but this development also failed to materialize . As of now, the property is back on the market, with its future uncertain. The lot’s current state has become a point of contention among community members, who are urging city officials to address the blight and consider viable redevelopment options that align with the neighborhood’s character.

So sad. Its a landfill for trash garbage junk. Oh but lets throw out every possible idea we bring to make use of
this land.
maybe it could be a starbucks or another mexican restaurant.
I liked Black Angus. I remember my last meal there, it was delicious, the brown bread was so good. They had a strawberry lemonade that I enjoyed too. Steak was OK but their burgers were good. At my last meal there, there was a morbidly obese duo of women behind our table and they were treating the server like trash. One of the women had the audacity to yell at the server that the “butter” they were serving was in fact, margarine, and that it was falsely advertised. The server told her it was butter. The woman said she knew what real butter was, and that this certainly was not real butter. In the woman’s defense, she appeared as someone who has a lot of experience with butter.
Would suspect treating the servers that way was perhaps cause for a little drool to land in her drinks. Generally things go better when you are nice to people.
Was it this lady by any chance?
Personally, I would not dare to pizz off waitstaff or cooks….ever!

Crime ridden as all of Coggins ln is criminals in apartments .Was such a nice area.Black Angus had a sign warning you not to park in their lot.
… wasn’t there a hotel planned for that site?
Really sad . I used to love the cucumber dressing and filet mignon.
Now here is nowhere affordable to go…. Outback is low class and inconsistent..Poor management.
Oh! You mean the Black Angus closed?
Where have I been! Gee but maybe this means we could get an Olive Garden there! Hehe🤪
Blackstone Development Inc was supposed to build a hotel there but they have a failing business. Can’t keep any jobs it seems
It’s actually Pleasant Hill.
It’s actually both.
There’s no incentives to open a business in Contra Costa or California unless they are giving you a loan solely because you came here from another country.People are leaving more than arriving(legit arrivals).I will say this to anyone thinking of coming to California “it’s a nice place to visit but you wouldn’t want to live there.”
The photos say it all.
It’s a perfect place for an Olive Garden.
I remember when it finally happened- the G in their sign that faced 680 burned out.
Always had a good laugh when I drove by!
Mayor, the Black Angus site is located in Pleasant Hill, not Walnut Creek. Direct all comments/complaints to Pleasant Hill City Hall.
Come on Starbucks, we’re waiting.
Had some good times at the Square Cow Fun Bar.
I as well sure miss it!
Wow this is beyond unacceptable, it wasn’t hard to stop vagrancy previously prior to Covid so let’s start enforcing the laws again? How do people keep voting for this? This is not ok WTF is wrong with people? Is this diverse enough or do we keep going?
I miss Black Angus. The interior was dated and dark, but I never had a bad meal there.
This location is actually Pleasant Hill, unless they gave it to Walnut Creek. I patrolled this area for many years and took many reports there as a Pleasant Hill police Officer
