Three drivers were arrested for DUI during a Concord Police enforcement patrol on May 30, 2025. Officers reminded the public that DUI includes impairment from alcohol, marijuana, and even some prescription or over-the-counter medications. DUI convictions can cost an average of $13,500 in fines and lead to license suspension. The patrol was funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
“The patrol was funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety”
Why isn’t it just funded by the drunks who were arrested?
$13,500 from each offender ought to cover a good piece of the cost.
I’ll bet I could spot more than 3 drunks in one night by just driving around looking for them.
Check Points are a waste of everybody’s time.
so what you’re saying is it’s the people who don’t know how to drive drunk that are the issue. i entirely agree.
