24-Year-Old Man Found Dead In Concord’s Baldwin Park

A 24-year-old homeless man was found dead in Concord’s Baldwin Park (off Port Chicago Hwy) this morning just after 8 a.m. He was on a picnic table, and was discovered by a city worker, who then called 911. The death doesn’t appear to be suspicious, which means it was more than likely drug related, although that hasn’t been confirmed.

This is so sad, I have both a son & daughter around this age. That was someone’s child not trash. Always found it strange that Baldwin park has been the go to spot for decades & it’s right next to a hospital with the polic station just a few miles down the road. This area used to be so chill & this was not the norm…

He went to John Muir hospital Tuesday afternoon (for exhaustion and dehydration) before going to this park. The nurses there said he was such a sweet young man that they made a little memorial in their break room with flowers when they found out the next day that he had died.

I’m not sure exactly when but the park turned some time ago…. can be pretty dicey there now …. too bad for the person and also whoever found him … can be quite traumatic in itself

Rest in peace, young man. Praying for you, your friends and family.

That is super sad but expected in this area now. Can’t help people that won’t help themselves.

He must not have heard that fentanyl is bad for you. If only there was more public information

One less person to burglarize my property

I can understand how you might think that from what a lot of drug users and homeless people might do. However in this case, it was my son who was found dead Wednesday morning at Baldwin park.
And I know that my son Casey would not have burglarized your property. He has never committed a crime against anyone. He was a compassionate person who respected other people’s space and their property.

The real message is people have to stay off of drugs! And drug dealing is not a victimless crime like the last few Democrat administrations tried to tell us. Obama alone sprung thousands of drug dealers out of jail . No doubt fentanyl that slipped through the southern border was the killer. But the person that sold them the drugs should be locked away. Theyre only going to kill more people.

Why make this political

It is political. The Government has funded the state with millions of dollars to deal with homeless and drug problems. The money has been filtered to the illegals that are here instead to protect them and the crimes they commit. It is about time the scum of CA is held accountable. Scum being our scummy governor.

It happens everywhere, even and especially the red states have a drug problem.

Everyones feeling so poetic and sympathetic to the this dumba$$.Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.I know pot doesnt kill you.Not till youre old.Doing drugs is no different than spinning the barrel of a revolver and putting it to your head .You know you could die.or not,so why not try it…?He wasnt worried about so you shouldnt be.

“worried about it”

Because it is,they enable this.If this .person was in jail for a felony last time caught lets say, that woul be a way for him to still be alive. They dry out, they dont want to go there again.Thats how the law is supposed to work. When they lowered felony drug possesion to a misdemeanor, drug death increased 10 fold. Political.

Thank you to everyone for the well wishes. This was my son. He was in rehab the past few months for his drug addiction. I just visited him there last weekend. I didn’t know that a few days ago he had decided to leave there and checked himself out early (before completion) from the treatment facility. He had gotten clean and wanted to stay clean, but the hold that opioids can have on a person is very strong. I believe he stopped at this park on his way to see me as I live in Concord off Clayton and Treat. So he was not exactly homeless as the article says, but he had left the place he was living and was not yet to my home, so technically I guess he was for a day or two.

I’m so sorry for your loss, Greg. My youngest son is a homeless drug addict in Bellingham WA. He’s been in and out of “re-habs for the last 20 years. He now uses Fentanyl, I believe. I stll love him; but no longer believe I can change him or support him. Very sad situation for many of us. Oldest son is very good husband and parent. Thank God for support groups like AA and Al-anon, and Nar-Anon.
