Emergency crews responded to a serious Utility Task Vehicle (UTV) accident off Morgan Territory Rd., involving multiple children just before 6 p.m. on Thursday. One child was airlifted by a REACH helicopter to UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital in Oakland, while two children were transported by ambulance to John Muir Medical Center. One of the victims, a 13-year-old weighing approximately 100 pounds, reportedly sustained a serious head injury. Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available. Thanks to Bryan for the information on the incident.

UPDATE: This was a UTV crash, not an ATV crash.

I think the non seat belt crowd are also anti helmet and child safety.

Not legal to drive on public roads….. Where were the parents???

I don’t know who was involved, age of who was driving, etc. but I live in this area. Oak Hill Lane is a private road closed to the general public though. It’s basically a driveway for several properties.

Does this look like a public road? No. It’s a private road for residents. People are so quick to judge and say, “where are the parents?” I hope you never have to go through what these parents probably went through. Any emergency can literally happen in two seconds doing anything remotely considered dangerous. Go bubble wrap your own kids and stop judging other parents online.

No license plate – Most likely No Insurance either. What is that thing doing on the road? I suspect that the Kids just took it.

My heart goes out to the kids and hoping for a full recovery. My heart also goes out to the parents that must be very distraught. No one ever wants to see their children hurt.

When are we going to start holding parents accountable for this nonsense? Every time this subject comes up in Claycord I have new stories about witnessing kids on these things, atvs, and the new electric and modified bikes, being driven by kids no older than 12 years old and causing havoc. Just last night in Old Concord I saw two kids (no helmets) blow past a stop sign and almost get hit by a car. It’s one thing if you don’t give two snots about your kids, *I* don’t want to run a kid over and have to deal with that mess and trauma. Get these kids outta here!

The parents are often too busy keeping an eye on their smartphone then to keep an eye on their kids (especially little ones).

But fun.
One or more adults failed here though.

With absence of any painted lines on road and it being so narrow,
think it is a private road.
