Cluck-Cluck, Boom: Old Bank Demolished For New Chick-fil-A In Walnut Creek

As first reported several weeks ago, Chick-fil-A is officially on its way to the corner of Oak Grove Road and Citrus Avenue in Walnut Creek, near Ygnacio Valley Road. The former Bank of America building on the site has now been demolished to make way for the new restaurant. Although there is no time frame for the opening of the new Chick-fil-A, the one in Concord only took a few months to construct, so there’s a possibility it could be open by late-summer, early-fall.

Why does Walnut Creek need another Chick-Fil-A?

Cities don’t determine which businesses come and go. Cities regulate land uses by zoning. The restaurant is consistent with the prescribed zoning. It was Chick-fil-A who decided another non-drive thru restaurant could be supported by the populace on this side of town.

The safe , lock boxes ,and ATMs are always the last to go … that’s the fun part to watch! 🙂

Im so excited to see more fast food restaurants opening along with more Starbucks. Coffee and chicken sandwiches is what makes contra costa county awesome.

Now who can argue with that?

No drive thu, as they spell it, shouldn’t take too long. Good location.

The upside for no drive-thru in Walnut Creek location is, there is no huge parking lot layout delay as there was for Concord.

How many more fast food joints do we need? Put in a real resturant in not more fast food junk.

Was there a “real restaurant” that wanted to build there but was rejected so Chick-fil-a could be built?
.
Yeah, I didn’t think so.

Who can afford to eat at a “real” restaurant anymore?
