The goats have arrived in Rossmoor! They’re hard at work grazing across 40 acres, helping to clear overgrown vegetation and lower wildfire risk. This eco-friendly method of weed abatement is part of the Lafayette-Walnut Creek Shaded Fuel Break project, funded by a CAL FIRE Fire Prevention Grant. By creating defensible space, these four-legged fire-prevention pros are playing a vital role in protecting our community.

I was at the waterfront park in Martinez the other day and wild oat infestation on the walking path was as tall as me. Much of the infestation around here is from infestation of various weeds like wild oat and Italian thistle in local parks which blow over into the neighborhood lawns and gardens and difficult to get rid of.

Love it! keep ’em coming & roaming around!

there’s a lot of them sitting down on the job.

Be careful where you step & use caution bending over to tie your shoes.

Walnut creek is so eco friendly, that’s why they still let gas leaf blowers take over our neighborhoods. everyday rain or shine or illegal..
