The following message is from Concord Mayor Carlyn Obringer:

As Mayor, and on behalf of the Concord City Council, I want to reaffirm Concord’s commitment to everyone who lives, works, and visits our City. At a time when national events continue to cause fear and uncertainty, Concord remains a community guided by inclusion, dignity, and respect. We take pride in being a City that celebrates diversity, and we stand firmly against discrimination. This is more than a policy, it is one of our core values that guides our work and reflects the principles we uphold in our City every day. These values are also reflected in the work of our Police Department, whose mission is to serve all members of our community with fairness and integrity. In accordance with California law, our officers do not enforce federal immigration laws or detain individuals based solely on immigration status. Their focus is on public safety and building trust across all neighborhoods. Concord is home to a federal immigration court, which is intended to provide individuals with a fair opportunity to present their cases and be heard. We support those who choose to exercise their constitutional right to peaceful protest. At the same time, if actions ever cross the line into violence, we will remain committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our community. Furthermore, we understand that many residents may be feeling anxious in light of recent federal actions. If you are looking for information about your rights, the Contra Costa County Library and Oasis Legal Services will host a virtual “Know Your Rights” session on Monday, June 23, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. We encourage anyone with questions to attend. More information is available online here.

Madame Mayor,

Will you have Concord Police at the immigration court to ensure ICE does not kidnap people from court?

She should have to face the consequences of breaking federal law so hopefully she is arrested and jailed if that is her actions. It’s not kidnapping it is called deportation and that is exactly what any illegal should face. No sympathy here they could have entered legally through our ports of entry. Come legally or stay home!

Immigration IE the feds, would kick their diversity infected rears.

Ever notice how these elected officials spend most of their time proclaiming what they WON’T do?
What is it exactly that you do do?
With apologies to Mel Brooks.

This misguided politician exemplifies the shortsightedness and ignorance of the policies and principles of the left.

I wonder if they would be so lax with me if I violated some law. One of the earlier topics is the number of enforcement activities related to driving from CHP, so apparently there are certain laws worth enforcing. I guess federal law is of no concern here in Concord.

So Federal Law says it is illegal to come into the USA without following proper procedures, but Califonria and Concord are not going to enforce those laws. It is a choice … poor, but it is choice. And then Concord and other California agencies whine that they are not told about ICE actions in their jurisdiction. Hmm … wonder if there is a correlation between stating that you are willingly not going to follow Federal Law and them not telling you what is going on.

Also, I always love these statements from politicians … they always say ‘immigrants’ without distinguishing those that BREAK the law by not following our rules to enter this country. There is nothing wrong with LEGAL immigrants and I will gladly stand with and support those that take the time to follow the rules.

As for the CRIMINALS, don’t let the door hit you on the way out of the country!

That is BS, how many in Concord voted AGAINST this crap??? WAKE UP CALIFORNIA & CONCORD!

Well… except for the taxpayers who finance all the handouts and healthcare for the illegal aliens living here…. Taxpaying citizens are being discriminated against in favor of all the undocumented Democrats that snuck into the country illegally.

Oh..forgot about the peanut gallery.Yawn, anything the cops wont do,might get done by citizens,as far as crime by illegals seen by the citizens, not the police.Ever notice they dont sell red T shirts with a big white circle that say”Target’ anymore? These guys all need one.

Dont forget they put the FBI in that same building for a reason. You need permission to get past the front desk.Years ago i delivered documents and that building is very tight security. They control the elevator and where you go too.

If the illegals really want to be untouchable in California they’ll walk around with the rainbow flags for the rest of the month.

They are the queens of sex change.for a minute, years ago i rented a room in a house with latinos ion it(what a mistake)In thier community they have a little saying”if you arent married by 40 thats the gay age” meaning,in their eyes,if you arent married by 40 its obvious you are gay.If you turn on the AC on a 110 degree day they will come home and scream and cry that is cold inside the house and they put on their winter coats all angry, because it was now 80 degrees in the house.A society of entitled cry babies, and anything you do that they do like you didd it to them intentionally because you’re a racist.

So it seems our elected officials forget their roles as public servants as well as their oath to uphold the Constitution and to defend against enemies, FOREIGN and domestic.

I find it offensive and discriminatory that ANY elected official has the gall to dictate how they, personally, think our laws should be upheld and enforced, and selectively choosing which, if any, they want to uphold while protecting those who choose to come into our nation illegally. The key word being, ILLEGALLY. They forget that they weren’t elected to support their personal beliefs, but that they were elected to support the views and needs of the people who put them in office.

I find it highly offensive that any public official encourages criminal behavior and actions by foreign citizens, advocating the cheating of our system of immigration laws, rules, policies, and procedures and that they actually endorse protecting FOREIGNERS over their own constituents.

The fact that LAW ENFORCEMENT doesn’t seem to actually enforce the law unless it aligns with a certain political or personal ideology is a travesty. This is what causes lack of trust and respect for law enforcement. You can’t choose sides, you must enforce ALL laws, not just the ones you like.

The very fact that these officials refuse to enforce federal law is criminal in itself. To allow illegal aliens to inhabit our communities, unchecked, should warrant an investigation into said officials’ loyalties and motives.

The stance and actions of our California government over the past few years regarding their support of illegal aliens flooding our cities and neighborhoods is highly unlawful and highly anti-American. This alone is why I’ll never vote for these people. My priority is AMERICA FIRST. Period. It’s shameful that their priority seems to be AMERICA LAST.

Correct me if I am wrong, but states rights was decided in 1865. The states cannot userp the federal government anymore…
