Officials In Nuts Creek Announce “Maximum Inconvenience Day” For Drivers On June 14 Due To Street Fair, Protest

Before you get offended about the headline, yes, Nuts Creek is indeed an historical nickname and a precursor to the name Walnut Creek. The City of Walnut Creek was originally settled around what was called Nuts Creek. The creek’s name, Arroyo de las Nueces, was Spanish for “Stream of Nuts,” which was later Americanized to Nuts Creek. The town was initially named “The Corners” before officially adopting the name Walnut Creek.

Oh – and watch out for traffic this weekend.

Whoever had any idea this was once called Nuts Creek? Not me, that’s for sure. Good stuff. Thanks, Claycord.com.

And Concord used to be called “Drunken Indian”.
The county was more colorful back then!

But why pick Walnut Creek for the protest?
Doe’s Concord’s large Hispanic population frighten the Lilly White suburban Lady liberals… or do they just want to go out to lunch and do some shopping afterwards?

Dr. Jellyfinger,
.
There’ll be “No Kings” protests tomorrow in several other Contra Costa County cities, too, including Pleasant Hill, Lafayette, Antioch, Brentwood, Hercules, El Sobrante, and El Cerrito, as well as several cities neighboring Contra Costa County, including Benicia, Vallejo, Dublin, Rio Vista, and Berkeley.

Well I’ll be busy doing home improvement projects with minor interruptions for beer & fishing…. not going anywhere but thanks for the heads up!

A “Fiesta” and Protest in favor of the swimmers and gate-crashing caravan hordes.~~~~ on the official celebration of the United States Flag Day. Sums up the current situation.

I like that name! And I might start using it. Because the ‘nuts’ do have much bigger sway in Walnut Creek now. A lot of them moved out from Berkeley and Oakland over the last 10-15 years, wanting a safer community to live in. But now. They’re agitating for all the things that ruined their last communities, and bring it to WC.

Too bad we don’t have an anti-riot law like they do in Florida.
Safety first.

Florida has said you can drive over protesters int he road if they are threatening you. Brilliant idea. Quickest way to stop these disgusting, violent, selfish hordes.
