Statement from Mayor Sue Noack Regarding Immigration Enforcement:

The City of Pleasant Hill has long endeavored to be a welcoming place, where people of all ages, races, religions and orientations could feel that they belong. As we have done all along, Pleasant Hill stands with our immigrant communities. We recognize that many in our community are concerned and afraid, following the federal immigration actions in our region and across the country. We want all our community to know that Pleasant Hill’s commitment to all our residents remains resolute. City services are available to all, regardless of immigration status. The City operates within our legal authority, with a focus on community trust and public safety – not immigration enforcement. Diversity is a source of strength for a community, and having those with different perspectives allows us to grow both as people and as a City. We will continue to be committed to dignity, fairness, and access for all. We also support your right to express concern through peaceful protest. In times like these, showing up for each other — in voice, in action, and in care — is how we move forward. Pleasant Hill is, and always will be, a place for everyone.

• The Contra Costa County Library is hosting a Know Your Rights online presentation on Monday, June 23 at 11 AM. Learn your rights when interacting with ICE and the immigration system.

If you are illegal, you should be arrested and thrown out.

If you have a deportation order, you should be removed immediately.

Hmm… Do you have any evidence he entered United States illegally?

You spelled “colique” incorrectly.

As a Christian and someone who worships EVERY week, yes I would.

Why, cause Jesus Christ did not come to this earth to break the law. He said to give unto Caesar what is Caesar and give the God what is Gods. He threw people out of the temple, following the laws of the time. Yes it was legal to stone an adulterer, so he did not tell the people not to throw a stone, just that whoever is without sin throw the first stone.

Jesus also said to follow the Ten Commandments. Thou shall not kill, steal, etc …. If you are breaking into a country and utilizing the resources, are you not stealing those resources? Would it be stealing to work as a day laborer and not claim that money on your taxes? There is also one about covering your neighbors possession … hmm, could it be consider converting if you enter a country illegally because they have nicer stuff …

I can go on if you like.

Why aren’t the democrat politicians ever that helpful, accommodating, loyal, concerned……
about honest law abiding hardworking responsible family supporting citizens?
Why do they only support those that break laws?

I think everyone could agree with this statement regardless of their political views

Current Democrat voters have already proven they’re in the Dem’s pocket and are too lackadaisical to consider what they are voting for or why.
Democrat Politicians already have their vote, so they ignore them & concentrate on all the undocumented Democrats here anticipating they’ll vote illegally or eventually be granted voting rights.
In the old west politicians could just buy free drinks for voters or offer a few bucks for their vote… same thing here but now but it’s welfare, health care, EBT, Food Bank, etc.
All the illegals want is free stuff, they will vote for whoever is promising the freebies!

LOL, all that ICE has to do is issue a Bounty on the Criminal / Dangerous Illegals and there will Be plenty of us in the Public who are willing to do a Citizen’s Arrest!!
It’s not looking good for you Politicians willing to Defend criminals……but doing NOTHING about home invasion robberies or smash & grabs!!

All places have immigrants its what America is ,and democrats play with words its what democrats do.When youre an immigrant and you came here illegally, youre a criminal. When they ask you to leave and you fight them, youre also a piece of $ht.The same people from the same countries as these invaders that came here legally do not want these criminals here. This is an 80/20 issue as usual. They few want to bully the majority and its just never ever going to happen.

So we can pick and choose which laws to ignore or obey in P.Hill?
It’s optional?

It’s excellent to hear that all of our roads are well paved and maintained within Pleasant Hill, and that crime in areas near 680 has subsided to the point that our paid elected officials can spend time and effort making statements like this, that have NOTHING TO DO with why they were elected or with serving the community they are supposed to lead. The number of illegal immigrants who are Pleasant Hill residents is tiny as a percentage of population. And, of course they cannot legally vote. So why does our paid elected official waste limited time, and effort, on this issue when there are many more pressing issues effecting the community she is supposed to serve. It seems Pleasant Hill would be better served by a mayor who concerned themselves with solving local problems.
