Dumpling & Noodle House, located on Willow Pass Rd. in Concord (formerly Togo’s), was closed late last month after health inspectors found the following during a routine inspection:

  • 22 live and dead ADULT German cockroaches under three compartment sink
  • 50+ live and dead NYMPH and JUVENILE German cockroaches under three compartment sink
  • various fruit flies (or similar smaller flying insects) and live and dead German cockroaches under the prep sink at
    the front kitchen
  • 4 ADULT German cockroaches on the water heater
  • 2 ADULT German cockroaches (one with an egg sac) around a patch of white RFP under the three
    compartment sink
  • 1 ADULT German cockroach and one JUVENILE German cockroach under the three compartment sink
  • 1 ADULT German cockroach under the prep table holding the meat slicer
  • Multiple egg sacs observed on the floor near the three compartment sink

The restaurant has since been reinspected and reopened. Click on the photo above to view the full report.

As a person of German descent, I have to call out your prejudice and tell you that I’m offended when you describe the cockroaches as “German cockroaches”. This clearly is Prejudice and hateful.*
* that’s what I would have said when I was a democrat… you know super sensitive to everything.. and everything was offensive and Prejudice.
Thank goodness I’m a Tump Republican now and I see how all this old stuff is nonsense.
Victimhood celebrated!

I hear that brother! It’s like when someone says American coward I’m not offended.
Plenty of cowards in America but I’m not one.

There are some 24 species of cockroaches. Sticky traps and boric acid based insecticide do them in. German cockroaches are small.

The one that scares me most is the one that was holding the meat slicer. What was he/she/they planning to do with it?

Disgusting! Yuk!

Concord is absolutely infested with American, German, and Oriental Cockroaches, as well as Norway and Roof Rats. I began seeing and having problems with these types of cockroaches about 1990 and with these types of rats about 1995, right around the time BART was extended from Downtown Concord to North Concord/Martinez. The problems with cockroaches and rats exploded about 10 years ago, coinciding with the explosion in homelessness that we began seeing in Concord, and this population of pests hasn’t slowed down since. I’ve killed as many as 30 rats in a backyard over a period of 3-weeks. Unfortunately, unless everyone in a neighborhood actively work to contain the cockroach and rat problem, then everyone in a neighborhood will continue to have this problem. I’m amazed at how many neighbors I have who claim they’ve not only never seen and don’t have cockroaches or rats, but also believe that Concord doesn’t have a cockroach and rat problem. Go for a walk late on a warm summer night and you should be able to see plenty of cockroaches. If you and/or a neighbor are putting out birdseed for wild birds and/or keep pet food outside for your pets and/or wild animals, then you also have a cockroach and rat problem. DIRTY AND NASTY CREATURES!!!
