Bay Leaf Cafe, located at 2123 Pacheco St in Concord, was closed late last month after health inspectors found the following during a routine inspection:
COCKROACHES:
- 1 active adult running on floor sink
- 1 nymph on wall above cook line hand sink
- 1 juvenile under storage rack across dish machine
- 1 juvenile on wall next to fryer at cook line
- 2 adults in between wall and prep table across from 3-compartment sink
- 1 live inside crack with antenna sticking out at short wall between 3-compartment sink and upright refrigerator
- 1 live adult on top of brush at 3-compartment sink
- 3 dead adult cockroaches observed at the side of ice machine
- 1 dead juvenile in garbage
- Multiple dead cockroaches on glue top under prep table by fryer, by ice machine and storage rack

these restaurants better start charging these cockroaches rent for being inside the kitchens of these restaurants.

Been there once and wasn’t impressed – now I have 2 reasons
What we should look out for is restaurants that have no cockroaches.
The food has to be really crappy for the bugs to decide to dine elsewhere.
Why do these restaurants wait until they are caught to fix vermin issues? That means at some point they were cooking your food and flicking cockroach off the plates and tables. Disgusting. I’m going back.
I mean I am NEVER GOING BACK
Bay Leaf was once a nice place for Breakfast.
