Mostly decent weather and low humidity

California is unique to its wonders of natural beauty. At 282 feet below sea level, Death Valley is the lowest point in the United States, and with a record high of 134 degrees F, it’s also the hottest place on earth.
California is also home to some of the oldest, tallest and largest trees in the world, the giant sequoias.
We have Yosemite, Big Sur, Mt Shasta, Lake Tahoe, Point Reyes, Joshua Tree National Park, the Nevada Sierras, the Mojave Desert, the giant redwoods of northern California, and one of the longest coastlines in the continental United States.
California has the most Spanish missions from Sonoma to San Diego, and even though the bobcat and mountain lion are found in other states, they are native to California as was the grizzly bear before going extinct.

Totally agree about all of it. Yosemite has be my all time favorite, nothing like it, and the Gold Country. But love all of what California has to offer in term of nature.

Hands down, the weather. That’s what makes it so hard to ever think about leaving. I also love the diversity of geography, being close to both ocean and mountains. I am utterly frustrated with the recent governance of our great state, but honestly have not found a better place to live.

The only thing left is better weather …. used to be quality education, reasonable taxes (including gas taxes) , good roads and highways, respectful friendly culturally diverse people with one another, politically tolerant of one another,,,, now not so much

California Wines….. and that’s about it.

Agree about the wines.

You can get bitten by a White Shark, drive less than and hour and
then get bitten by a mountain lion. That’s kinda unique.
Even Australia doesn’t have mountain lions.

850 miles of Pacific Ocean sunsets. Maybe the one certain thing in life that politicians and bureaucrats can’t muck up.
