The “Water Cooler” is a feature on Claycord.com where we ask you a question or provide a topic, and you talk about it.
The “Water Cooler” will be up Monday-Friday in the noon hour.
QUESTION: What do you think California will look like in 50 years? More people? Fewer people? More high-density housing? Better roads? Give us your thoughts.
Talk about it.
Given our trajectory – more rime, more high rise high density housing, less water, more power outages, higher taxes, highways basically clogged all day everyday, more pollution, specific food type shortages, given climate change projections it will be hotter overall and less rain … other than that not much 🙁
Hotter weather throughout the state. Concord is the new Phoenix.
Like skid row in downtown los angeles.
more homeless more dirty streets more tents more druggies more ev charging stations more more more!
The answer to that truly depends on whether California stays as a super democrat majority run state or gets more balance back into it with half Republicans at least..
The democrats seem to have the pedal-to-the-metal towards destruction. All their social programs have backfired. We have more homeless, more drug use, more crime. More poor and welfare-need citizens. Worst education system . Nothing under them has improved, only gotten much worse!
If the democrats keep on, I envision a state that may have clean air but dirty streets, bad roads and more of all the problems mentionef above. If Republicans get a chance at ruling I do see the state returning back to a strong middle class and better quality of life For everyone.
@ Badge1104~
You pretty much put into words what I was thinking.
Thanks
same here….was thinking the very same thoughts.
Not sure about California only BUT if we look at World Population and the condition of earth.
It took approximatly 50 years for the population to double on earth. So if we add another 50 years to this … I think we can agree it won’t be pretty.
a homeless encampment.
Ever Seen “Soylant Green”? Thats it in a nutshell.
democrats will have driven most of the rich out, with their “tax the rich” fantasy.
Major refiners will have quit the state and government will take over operating
them. An how will they do ? ? ? Think DMV 20 years ago . . . . . . .
Taxes and fees will be raised on middle class, after rich and upper middle
class have moved out of state..
.
Status of High Speed Rail,

Sadly, if it continues under the current policy, it will never look as good as it did 50 years ago.
I have no idea, but it’ll be 50 years worse
not 50 years better.
Skid Row in LA and the Tenderloin of SF will be models of the norm, taxes will be through the roof, unemployment/underemployment will skyrocket, but heck you can’t beat the weather.
If it’s as bad as you all say it will be, I’m sure glade I’ll have been gone for at least 30 or more of those years!!
Newsom kids will be the governor
Summer joke
What did the beach say to the tide as it came back in?
Long time no sea.
Tiajuana
It will have more of a lawless Mad Max feel to it.
Every person for themselves without boundaries.
Highways with chuck holes the size of swimming pools.
Incomplete railroad trestles towering above like Stonehenge.
The Don Quixote wind mills, no longer turning.
Nice weather however………

Perfect choice !
If lucky the coast from I-5 west will still be here and not fallen in to the Pacific after a huge earthquake off the coast up by Eureka. Sounds like the Edgar Cayce prediction but recently geologists confirmed that this part of California is on a shelf and could exactly do that.
