At approximately 02:14 AM, Walnut Creek Police responded to a solo vehicle collision on Ygnacio Valley Rd. near N. Broadway. Officers arrived within a minute of the call and found the vehicle on fire resting on a tree in the parking lot of 675 Ygnacio Valley Rd. CFD responded quickly and extinguished the fire preventing damage to any structures. Unfortunately, the driver succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver was the sole occupant and there were no other vehicles involved in the collision. The name of the deceased is unable to be released at this time while investigators are still attempting to notify the family. 2:14am sounds like a ride home after last call. some people just can’t handle their liquor, buddy needed more practice.
