Air District Warns Of Firework Pollution, Except The Kind That Comes With A Permit And A Budget

Ahead of the Fourth of July, the Bay Area Air District is asking residents to avoid using personal fireworks. Personal fireworks, from small sparklers to aerial skyrockets, cause pollution and increase the risk of wildfires. Vulnerable populations – such as children, older people, and those with respiratory conditions – can also be endangered by personal firework displays. The air district instead recommends that residents attend firework shows organized by local governments. “As we prepare to celebrate the Fourth of July this weekend, let’s all do our part to keep the air clean and our communities safe by not lighting personal fireworks,” said Dr. Phillip Fine, executive officer of the Bay Area Air District.

Is the Bay Area Air District asking people not to travel this weekend to protect vulnerable populations – such as children, older people, and those with respiratory conditions? Soon they will be saying,  let’s all do our part to keep the air clean and our communities safe by not using fossil fuel burning vehicles. Disband BAAQD, we have the EPA.

Does this include igniting flatulence?
Can we be cited for that?
Is it technically considered fireworks?
We have the event every 4th of July while we play the 1812 Overture and we are really safe about it… got a guy standing by with a hose.

Sounds like a nice tradition have a fun safe 4th! Hope you enjoy lots of delicious food and beverage.

Thanks! You too.

We are improving safety next year.
We’ve been using an old record player and the record is scratched.
It started skipping and the guys about blew themselves out trying to keep up with the cannon fire, suffered some burns and damaged shorts.
We will use a CD player next time.
