I had to close the window to quiet things down a bit, dog was starting to panic.
Most of the noise is legitimate illegal fireworks…. only a little gunfire.

I have a question/comment for the mayor – could you please change or better yet do away with the green background color on old articles. The chosen color of green is really hard on the eyes and distracting to the whole “Claycord” layout.

In addition, please get the ads under control. It’s really annoying to try to read an entry only to have it jump around as the ads decide where they will park.
Try Adblock Plus, you can find it on Google and download it for free. Some browsers
also include an ad blocker, if your browser includes one, you should be able to find it in
the settings.
You can download AdBlock for free but they will start dunning you for money. The real problem is the paywalls for many news sites. I’m surprised no one has come up with a token system where you can buy some tokens and when you want to read something on a news site you might not have overall enough interest in to subscribe can use a token or two to read an article. It would kinda be like the old days where you heard something on the radio or someone talking about something that just happened and you run down to the news stand and get a paper for a quarter.
Are we talking about the same ad blocker? You mentioned AdBlock, and I was talking about Adblock Plus, which is a different ad blocker entirely. I have never used AdBlock,
but I’ve been using Adblock Plus for many years. It works just fine and never attempts to get any money from me. It allows me to decide which ads to block with the option to allow some non-intrusive ads, or I can block them all. It even lets me block annoying
video pop-ups, and non-essential cookies. It also allows me to turn it off on websites I choose, which comes in handy because some websites won’t work properly with an ad blocker.
No, obviously a different one but what is odd both go by AdBlock. Usually one will sue the other. I don’t think it’s the same company.
Nobody ever talks about the fallout of exploded fireworks. Where do the particles fall? Into the water you catch fish from? How much lead, selenium, and heavy metals are falling into the soil of your organic vegetable garden? During the vietnam war, the toxic fallout tainted every sector of the food chain. Your organic tomatoes will give you liver cancer.

sooo…I saw our Mayor Obringer in the Concord 4th of July Parade, I saw Laura Hoffmeister participating….where were the rest of them?
I recently stopped at the Concord Senior Center for lunch, and there was Mayor Obringer, helping serve our lunch. Thanks, Madam Mayor.
One of the things I miss from Claycord was the Free 4th of July concert at the Concord Pavillion, which featured the California Symphony and a great fireworks show.

Being asked for your phone number and DOB is annoying when it’s a situation you feel doesn’t need that info. I’m tempted to give “one digit off” to make it look like it’s a typo, not providing false information. I don’t want my information sold. It’s even more tempting to me to google and see “why” they want this information. It’s for two step authentication, which is a good thing. If you don’t want two step authentication, Microsoft allows you to turn it off.
Tried an experiment some years back, if memory serves, slowed connection
speed and pulled up who software was talking to. Roughly every 90 seconds
software phoned home.

I like my privacy, that said, doing a search a few days ago, window pops up with unique spelling of my name, wanting me to register. Only two websites I buy from have I used that spelling. As for DOB, thinkin’ 1895 or 1652 . . . . . . .

who is selling your info.

Other thing that ticks me off is having to pay for excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Anytime there’s a windows 10 PC for sale with Office I buy it.
