Bamboo Garden at 1155 Arnold Dr. in Martinez has reopened following a closure due to a rodent infestation. Inspectors from the Contra Costa Environmental Health Department inspected the facility after a complaint came in saying two rodents were trying to enter the restaurant through the front door around 9pm. The complainant also observed one cockroach scurrying away from the restaurant.
Inspectors found the following:
- Observed scattered fresh rodent droppings throughout the facility; on food buckets, on stored slicer, and on the floors inside storage room and under preparation units and cooking equipment at the cook’s line.
- Observed large amount of rodent droppings behind dry bulk foods in dry storage room. UV light was used and
florescence was observed. - Observed approximately 7 baited rat snap traps throughout the facility.
- Observed baited sticky traps underneath shelving, in dry storage room.
- Rodent dropping observed on soy sauce bucket. Employee was directed to clean and sanitize empty container.
- Four (4) rodent droppings on meat slicer stored across prep sink. Employee was directed to wash/sanitize
equipment and surrounding area. - Observed rodent droppings near snap traps under shelving, underneath storage racks (inside dry storage room)
- Observed fresh rodent dropping under FOH sinks/Server area.

Been a long time since I’ve eaten there and that seals the deal! Makes you wonder about the sushi place a few doors down.
