ConFire is on the scene of a large exterior fire on SR242 near Olivera Rd, in Concord. While it wasn’t officially designated as a full vegetation fire, the number of crews dispatched suggests it probably should have been. This area is notoriously difficult for firefighting personnel to operate in. The initial reports came in to dispatch, at 1:25pm.
Please avoid the area.

UPDATE: The fire has been extinguished.

Still burning? What about the Commute?
Thanks Mayor. That image sure looks like Northwood Condo complex… glad fire didn’t take hold there!
There was also a vegetation fire at SR242 and Olivera Road on Sunday evening. Concord Police closed the Olivera Road overpass and there were 5 fire trucks on the scene fighting the fire. All of the vegetation between SR242 and the Olivera Road exit has several homeless tents and shelters hidden within it.
