An Oakland woman was sentenced to more than two years in federal prison Thursday for her role in bank robberies in multiple cities across the East and North bays, Acting U.S. Attorney Michele Beckwith announced. Yasmin Millett, 22, worked with a team to rob at least 10 banks between June 2023 and September 2024 in the cities of Vallejo, Suisun City, Benicia, Concord, Antioch and Sacramento, prosecutors said. Millett’s role in the heists was to recruit and train others to enter the banks or credit unions with sunglasses, a purse, and a threatening note for the teller. The demand notes would generally instruct the teller to hand over money or “I will kill everyone in here,” according to prosecutors.
For example, in July 2023, Millett and two others used a stolen car to commit a robbery at a credit union in Suisun City in Solano County. Millett waited in the car — an Audi with dark, tinted windows — while the others entered the bank and handed over a threatening note demanding cash. The note said the employee would be shot if they didn’t comply. The money was handed over and Millett and her crew fled the scene, splitting up the cash later. The next day, an officer conducted a traffic stop on the stolen Audi being driven by Millett. The officer found bait money on Millett from the Suisun City robbery. Bait money is cash banks hand over during robberies that has been specially marked. The officer also found a crumpled demand note on the driver’s seat that stated, “Don’t Make eye contact Don’t look suspicious Don’t Push emergency Button Put smile on your face or I will shoot,” prosecutors said. Co-defendants Dontae Jones Jr., 20, residing in Northern California with no fixed address, and JoMya Mauriyne Futch, 21, of Richmond, both pleaded guilty to one count of bank robbery on April 17 and are scheduled to be sentenced on Aug. 7.
No comment necessary. Why doesen’t their parent raise them to law abiding and responsible? You will make more and feel greater worth by getting a job.

is to educate a menace to society.”

Yasmin, Dontae, and JoMya, should have read, “Bank Robbery for Dummies.” The first
chapter explains in detail how to recognize bait money, ditch the get-away car, and destroy
the note. Yasmin got off lucky, in federal prison she must serve 80% of her sentence, she’ll
be out in just over a year and a half.
TWO YEARS FOR 10 BANK ROBBERIES I CALL THAT GETTING OFF EASY.
I was just thinking the same thing. 2 years only? Federal offense robbing a bank. Minimum is not 2 yrs.
Only around two years after threatening to KILL everyone.. Very light sentence…DA’s seem to avoid strong penalties.
DEI bank robbers.
They probably get to keep the money too.
It’s a California thing.
GOOD UPBRINGING
This sounds like a Great career path. To recruit and train people to work with others… The job comes with free transportation.and has large cash bonuses. $$$$
They should all get 10 for two!…(just like the song “John Sinclair”).
Robbing a Vallejo bank? For what? $180? Losers.
Only 2 yrs for 10 bank robberies! threatening murder!? ..friend of the DA?
