QUESTION: When was the last time you went out to dinner, and about how much did it cost?
Talk about it.
I don’t go out to dinner much. My friends that I meet with regularly live in Petaluma, Windsor or Napa, we usually meet for lunch. For my birthday in January I wanted to treat myself to dinner, I wanted to go to Sailor Jack’s in Benicia, I love the view and the food is good, however my birthday was on a Tuesday, and they are closed on Tuesday. I went to Red Robin, it was okay but not like Sailor Jack’s. When I go out to dinner is usually if I go away for a week-end, which I do once in awhile with a girl-friend, or when I visit my girl-friend in Palm Springs for a few days. Last time I visited her we went to a steak place, I forgot the name, but it is well known (Frank Sinatra use to come there), the food was good, I don’t remember what it cost, probably $50-60.00 with wine.

The last time was a couple of months ago at a restaurant in Marin County, I think it was Mill Valley or Corte Madera. Most of Marin looks the same to me, but my brother lives there and
so does my sister, so we met them for lunch. I don’t know what the total was, but I had the halibut, and we also had some drinks and appetizers, which added to the bill. Marin has some exceptionally nice restaurants with great waiters and waitresses that treat us like we are special. We realize it’s an act to get more tips, but it adds enjoyment to our overall impression and satisfaction while enjoying our food.
Save your money and grocery shop. Its healthier, both physically and mentally for you.

That is a bit much. Did you make a typo? Even $15 would be a bit much for a fair snack.
everything was $15-20 so two dogs around $40, two fries around $40 and two drinks around $20 plus the Governors share.

last time i went out to eat and instead of door dashing it was many years ago. I went to a sushi place with a woman i was friends with at the time, dont remember the price but it was good sushi.
i hate being in restaurants especially for dinner with people around so now i just door dash it.

We both had the Ravioli All’aragosta – Maine Lobster & Asparagus filled Ravioli topped with Tiger Prawns, a wonderful Menabrea Bionda Lager, a glass of Sauvignon Blanc, and a slice of Limoncello cake. Total cost including 20% tip for wonderful service $108.00
It ain’t Olive Garden.
In May/June on our road trip in Colorado, had a few dinners out with Daughter & Hubby.
It was running about $100 ~ $120 without added tip for the 4 of us.
Ate at some yummy places, …. 🙂

Our Neighbor Friends took us there last month.
Think Hubby and I are going to visit there soon.
My daughter wanted to take us to this sushi place, in Phoenix though. Bill ended up being over $90 for 3 of us. Not going back, as sushi to me is just paying a lot of cash for a thin slice of fish and a ball of rice. I’d rather get the whole fish, que it up and enjoy that. Before that, it was Culvers, at about $65. It costs a lot to eat out, and to me, just is not worth it any longer.

I have friends with an RV who visit yearly and plug the RV into my power. They buy lunch and/or dinner to make up for the energy. So I didn’t pay anything but I would rather have the cash not the calories. We do often try new places they haven’t been to before.

Last night a neighbor and I ate sushi at Momoyama on Monument Blvd. I had a sushi roll with soup and salad plus tip for $20-. I usually eat there once a week.
Grand Sierra in Reno has a place who’s name I forget,
but the Happy Hour has half price drinks and Oysters Rockefeller!
And they do the oysters perfectly.
C2 Steakhouse at Cache Creek can put on nice spread too.
I never remember how much stuff costs,
I drop cost benefit analysis when I go out.
Its about the experience, not the $.
We go out all the time. We mix it up between “dine and dash” (corner locations – we’re not getting any younger) and AM/PM – 2 hot dogs for 99 cents. Life is good!
Rarely, since Obuma and Obuma junior wiped out quality affordable dining out with their devastating and crushing destruction of small businesses and widespread historically high inflation.
However, those that support Obuma and China Joe are still lucky – with the widespread selection and availability of affordable high dining out establishments such as McDonalds, Taco Bell, Pizza Gut, Subway, Burger Queen(woke proper), the millions and millions of Starbucks, KFC, Somebody Junior?, Jack in the box…..
p.s. What did that article here have to say regarding a third of young adults being pre- diabetic or full blown diabetics?
Likely 3 months ago, Chilis with my 3 year old, it was miserable and expensive, almost $90 total for the 3 of us. Dont plan to eat out again anytime soon. We make better food at home for 1/5 the cost.
