Authorities are investigating after a car went off Highway 4 near Concord, crashed and caught fire, killing one person on Monday afternoon. The crash was reported about 12:30 p.m. along westbound Highway 4 near the Willow Pass Road onramp, west of Concord, according to the California Highway Patrol. Traffic IS heavy and only the #2 westbound lane as open to traffic, the CHP said.

While it was nice to see some patrols on Hwy 4 for the 4th of July………It’s Not enough – the average speeds are 90 – 100mph on that freeway. More patrols and impounds are needed.
The Antioch-Richmond Expressway strikes again.
The CHP could fully fund themselves just ticketing the jerks on HWY 4. Not sure why they don’t.
Actually, I have some idea.
Apparently homie was trying to pass on the right shoulder, ran out of room, and launched. No compassion for people who make these kinds of choices.
