QUESTION: If you could go back in time, what is one thing you would do differently?

Talk about it.

I would have been even nicer to my parents.

I would have never sold my ’72 Chevy pickup. It was a good truck, took a lot of abuse, and kept on running. They don’t make pickup trucks anymore, now they make some sort of contraption with four doors, and an extremely short bed, and too much plastic, computers, electronics, and electronic sensors that have a tendency to malfunction. They are so complex that most backyard mechanics cannot fix them. The ’72 Chevy on the other hand was made of all steel and when I opened the hood, there was a nice little 350 V8 with plenty of room to change the spark plugs and perform other work.

so many things, too many to list, so the one thing would be to not sit on my backside and not exercise for the many many years I spent sitting.

The company I had worked for in the early 80’s wanted me to come back to work in 1987.
They were converting from drafting on the board to Auto-CAD and would train me for free.
Our daughter was just starting kindergarten and would have to find and pay for daycare.
Even with them paying me, it would have been a hardship with the 2-hour round trip commute.
Wish I could have found a way to make it work, … best job ever for me.

Only one thing?
How would that be possible with my mind full of info about what stocks to buy, sporting event outcomes I can bet on & all the women already pre-screened in my mind?
I won’t have to waste any time with the non promiscuous date baiters who cost me a ton of money then ended our dates with a handshake.
I’ll buy as many cool cars as I can for a mere fraction of their future value!
I’ve got to look up and write down some winning lottery numbers before I go too!
Send me back to my 21st Birthday!

Not a single thing.
Any even tiny change and maybe
I don’t have so many blessings now.
Multi-verse answer…
There are by now almost countless
divergent Atticus’s where I made
almost countless different choices
and went on my merry way(s).

Two things come to mind, but the first and most important was I would have met my wife sooner so I could have enjoyed even more time with her. Then there is also the fact that a ’62 Ferrari GTO could be had for about $13,000 (used) in 1965-66 and would now be worth around $60,000,000.

It’d be cool, but imagine
the insurance?
I’d be terrified to drive it.
Is this one they only made
like, 35 of?

No…. this is what would happen.

I would have spent more time talking to my parents, aunts & uncles, grandparents, and great-grandparents about their experiences when they were younger.

Would have asked why my father (and others) lied about his involvement in the military service (he joined AFTER it just ended contrary to relaties comments growing up) …. and why the preferential treatment to my brother while growing up (I know why now after much research)
