Los Angles is not alone many cities paid large amounts of overtime.
It’s often more cost-effective to pay overtime, rather than hire additional officers who would cost more in worker’s comp, benefits packages, etc.
Hiring sworn officers has been a problem since a political party made it their focus
to villainize the profession as they do in run up to presidential elections in an effort
to turn out the black voter block. Other ploy is the carrot of reparations, which
evaporates when elections are over.

A city has a finite amount of money, paying OT means other city services might be cut.
Other consideration, fatigued officers could make incorrect decisions and could end
up raising workers comp claims.

disservice to citizens. Police OT was but a minor symptom brought about by a

Jacob Chansley (Q Shaman) was sentenced to 40 months for disturbing the Capitol and a couple other charges, served about 16 months. Adam Johnson was sentenced to 75 days for disturbing the Capitol, etc. (he carried pelosi’s lectern) and a $5K fine.
And no charges for any of the FBI’s 26 “human assets” at the riot somebody started.
One difference is that many of the 6ers faced pre-trial imprisonment that was longer than the maximum sentence for their alleged crimes.

Though Trump did not outright ask the rioters to stop on Jan 6th, he did not outwardly encourage them to fight Law Enforcement. Trump did not order Law Enforcement out of the building. Can you say the same about LA – no.
Woke Agenda – mayors and governors telling their constituents to fight to protect those who have entered this country illegally.
Trump did not cut funding because of radical, woke propaganda, the cuts were made due to NPR and PBS exercising political bias. Public broadcasting, does not have a constitutional right to public funding, and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting specifically prohibits impartiality.
Which viewpoints NPR and PBS promote does not matter, what does matter is that they are not presenting a fair, accurate, or unbiased portrayal of current events to taxpaying citizens.
