The Concord Police Department is mourning the loss of retired K9 Julka, who passed away over the weekend. Julka served the department with distinction from 2015 to 2021 and was the first female police dog in Concord since 1987. During her six years of service, Julka played a key role in numerous operations, assisting officers with searches, suspect apprehensions, and community outreach efforts. Her dedication, intelligence, and spirited presence made her a beloved member of the department and a favorite among the public. Following her retirement, Julka enjoyed a peaceful life at home with her handler, where she remained a loyal companion until her final days.
