QUESTION: A federal appeals court has ruled Thursday that California’s law requiring background checks for ammunition purchases is unconstitutional, meaning the requirement is no longer enforceable. Do you think there should or shouldn’t be background checks to buy ammo in California?
Talk about it.

Of course there shouldn’t be background checks and excess taxes on ammunition, it’s basically like a poll tax, because you’re taxing a consumable that’s required to exercise a fundamental right. Moreover, there’s a 10-18% background check denial rate for people who should legally be allowed to buy ammo. Less than 1% of the background checks prevent a prohibited person from buying ammo. It’s just another way gun-grabbers have found a way to cause pain for law abiding gun owners.
no because it only shows the people that are legit not the crooks that steal it, and the check was not free so it was simply a money grab. solved no problems.
Heck no, they already do background checks when purchasing guns. law abiding citizens are being held accountable for the crimes of criminals, instead of punishing law abiding citizens start throwing the book at the law breakers. CA will lose this once again, because it is another unconstitutional illegal law. Personally, I do not follow CAs illegal laws.
No…. perps can get ammo or firearms anytime they want… it’s the legit people that pay the high prices and go through the wait period…. now that I mention it – why do many many states allow silencers but Cali does not? They’re high priced for one and perps probably wouldn’t bother buying one.. target shooting and hunting can be done more safely to everybody’s hearing – the state would even get a fee out of it…. Newscum listening out there?
The setup to the question answered the question, stating the law was un-Constitutional. I wonder what the next tactic our benevolent rulers in CA will take to impede upon our Constitutional right, although Governless Nuisance has 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in his sites, and gun control is a losing position in presidential campaigns.
No, I am a strong supporter of the US Constitution and its amendments, even if I disagree
with some of them. A background check of any kind encroaches on the rights of the people
and will create unnecessary delays. It will also create a government database, keeping a record of every purchase, every time, further restricting our right to privacy.
As with the background checks already in place for the purchase of firearms, it will create
more crime by creating a black market for ammunition.
No wonder there is so much crime with these answers.
Oh sure. Criminals running wild and free in our state thanks to democrat state government and their supporters has nothing to do with the current massive crime epidemic.
My guns and ammo protect people like you from crime. What do you have to say about that?
Sure they do 😁
Absolutely not.
Let freedom ring! 🇺🇸
Yeah freedom, america! Let’s get started on those post tragedy thoughts and prayers comments. I guess that’s just the cost of freedom
If you think that’s the cost of freedom
you’re ignoring our almost 250 years
of history. Both eyes open Lazlo.
totally stupid remark. maybe try a country that is not ruled by their citizens. Have fun! “love your hair! hope you win!”
