The city of Vallejo is ramping up pest control efforts to curb a recent spike in rodent activity around its downtown corridor and ferry terminal, city officials said. Public Works crews, along with the city’s pest control contractor, deployed more traps Monday and followed up on traps set Friday to further reduce the rodent population and protect public health, the city’s Public Information Office said.
An expanded street sweeping schedule, already in effect and continuing through the end of July, is being reviewed to determine if more coverage is needed. Crews are conducting routine inspections and removing dead rodents from public areas to help prevent further infestations. City officials said they are working directly with local property and business owners to coordinate cleanup efforts. “The health and safety of our community is our top priority,” Assistant City Manager Nalungo Conley said in a statement. “We’re committed to working hand-in-hand with our partners and the public to resolve this issue swiftly and effectively.” Residents and businesses are encouraged to share feedback or report activity by contacting Conley at nalungo.conley@cityofvallejo.net.

Yeah, time to clean up the trash.
Concord is also infested with with two types of rats 🐀 🐀 and three types of cockroaches 🪳 🪳 🪳. Concord’s rat and cockroach population exploded 8-10 years ago and hasn’t slowed down since. Unless everyone in a neighborhood works to control these populations then the problem continues. Unfortunately, I have people in my neighborhood who feed these pests.
Rats love to eat cockroaches but if the garbage is easier to get then that’s supper.
Roach control, empty tuna sized can, pour soy sauce to 1/4 inch,
add 1/4 inch cheap cooking oil.
Roaches smell soy sauce climb in, get coated with oil and die.
