The “Water Cooler” is a feature on Claycord.com where we ask you a question or provide a topic, and you talk about it.

QUESTION: If you could pick one restaurant (either fast-food or sit-down) to bring to Claycord from out of our area, which one would you pick?

Talk about it….

Patio Español Restaurant, located on Alamany Blvd in San Francisco.
Very good, and reasonably priced, Spanish cuisine.
If you like Mediterranean food, you will enjoy the food of Spain.
People often think Spanish food will be a lot like Mexican food, but there is no comparison.
Mexican food was mostly influenced by the native Indians.

Claycord needs In-N-Out.
They’ve voted against it several times for no good reason.
So tired of seeing all the Chic Fil A places opening up. It’s overpriced and over-rated.

As for a sit down restaurant, I’d love to see El Aguila expand from Pleasant Hill and open one here. The only Mexican restaurant I’ll eat at.

We’ll trade you a Cracker Barrel for any Mexican restaurant that doesn’t have to drown their food in Queso to hide the taste.

Arby’s. They have the meats.

Please do not add any more fast food chains on clayton rd area. Do any of you live near them? The smell from the cooking oil all day/7days a week is really very unpleasant. More of a finer dining would be better…even olive garden…

La Sen Bistro
A delightful French restaurant, previously on Salvio St in Concord, but we let them get away to Walnut Creek. Good food and service, reasonable prices. We have enough Italian and Mexican restaurants, and now apanese places are moving in, but NO French restaurants.

I wouldn’t mind a Culver’s or a Portillo’s opening up in/near Claycord, for fast food. I cannot think of any sit down I would patronize regularly were it to locate here.

Texas Roadhouse
resurrect the La Cocotte that used to be in Walnut Creek
Scott’s Seafood
any Texas BBQ places such as Rudy’s or Hard 8 (Dallas area)

Le Virage was in WC, La Cocotte was in Clayton.
