…and happy Friday to you. Hope you’re cooling down. 🙂

Thanks.
Today was the first time since July 1st thst we didn’t have temperatures over 90.

This summer has been going through so fast that if you blink you’ll miss it!

The following is more of a tell-out-loud joke, because that elevates it from “seriously?… that’s supposed to be funny” to “wow, that’s dumb”.
What do you call a fish with no eyes?
Fsh.
Happy Friday!

Not sure it was earned, but I liked that.

Had a belly laugh over this one – thanks!

Sad really, here it is August 1st and I find myself going to places like Lowe’s, Home Depot, Walmart, etc. just to see if Halloween stuff is up. I don’t even buy that stuff (too generic), but just the anticipation of the holiday season kicking off, well, just too much. Oh well, counting the days.

Have you checked out Tinder or Grinder?
Whatever the not gay one is presumably. ☺️

I am assuming this comment is not in the correct place, in that looking forward to holidays and dating apps (I believe that is what they are) are not apparently relevant. Regardless, my wife would, well, we won’t describe, me if I utilized those type of sites.

The comment is in the correct place. That’s Atticus and his sense of humor. I’ve been digging him since Concord High, but I’m not sure we ever met in the hallway. Enjoy his company at a Mets game. His generosity will show. He never leaves home without it.

I was at Sam’s Club this morning, and they had lots of Halloween stuff displayed, already.

What worked was living the experience
than getting the tattoo.
what’s not working is getting all the tattoos
and trying to live up to them.
the baby soft hands and man(?) bun
are dead giveaways.
Learn a trade, get as good at it
as can reasonably be expected.
Or a skill few others can do as well.
Then worry about adornment and illustration.
That’s free advice right there. Cause I care. 🫵🏼

Learn a trade? I did that back in the early 1980s. The VIC-20 computer was only $88 at K-Mart. I sat down and went through all the BASIC tutorials in two days. A friend, a computer programmer, had said that assembly language was the way to go so I typed in a machine monitor program that was in a magazine and started writing code. Easy for me being a musician and composer so abstract terms came easy. Later got a compiler. Programming games became a way of combining my art, music and electronics skills into one trade. And not exactly a minimum wage trade either but the real money came later. I didn’t know that if I had taken my apps to some of the companies in SV the second question would have been “so when can you start”?

Older age did not treat me well as ageism crept into the field but now companies have learned that computer science grads largely got into the field for the money and you can’t just ask them to write a program that does something. They’ll just stare at you like a deer in the headlights and ask “how do I do that”?

See, software development is an art form not a technology. Colleges graduated technicians not developers and that is why SV is laying them off and sending grew beards with decades of experience if they could come back to work again.

Incredibly intrusive and useless law.

I wonder if it has ever occurred to any of you that “Liam Neeson” spelled backwards is
“noseen mail” and that he is currently boinking Pamela Anderson, whose name spelled backwards doesn’t make any sense, but her favorite Elvis song is “Return To Sender” which is all about …… guess what?

I just wanted to check if anyone is getting relentless Telemarketer calls (and Yes, I have been on the DONOTCALL list since 2003!) Here’s the numbers that have been harassing me for two weeks:
925-514-8999
925-514-8687
925-514-8897
925-514-8940
925-514-8913
925-514-8329
925-514-8859
925-514-8332

Yes. The ringer is turned off on all of our phones in the house. We go through the directory to find “real” calls. The DNC list doesn’t help (we’ve been on it for years) and blocking the number doesn’t work either. They’ll spoof the number and call from another number. These calls are coming from Oklahoma. Or at least the ones we’re getting. Good luck!

I was feeling kind of low when I happened upon your post and I suddenly realized how fortunate I am that I didn’t wind up working as a telemarketer in Oklahoma…. I mean even if I hit rock bottom I’d have to look down… wayyyy down to see telemarketers in Oklahoma…. what a nightmare!
Maybe we shouldn’t be too hard on them… have a little mercy?
Nah! They’re telemarketers.

You’d make a great telemarketer. I can see you autodialing the entire country/world replacing crank calls from the 70s…

KVHS 90.5 is back on the F.M. Radio Waves !!!

I feel an upcoming holiday nostalgia twinge here and there, and as usual turn to food: rummaging around for fall and pumpkin recipes – anything from pumpkin pancakes to pumpkin spice coffee (never had it); soon mini pumpkins will be available in the grocery store, and that fancy-colored dried corn – I’ll dump a couple mini pumpkins and a couple ears of corn onto anything orange or fall-colored, like the orange plate that we never use, and plop it down on the kitchen table. Serve up pancakes, the hot punkin’ coffee, admire the fall table decoration – then crack open a great historical or mystery novel from the library or a reader, and we’re set. Cheers!

is accountable for his actions.”

.
Australian’ state of Victoria politicians have decided upon a period of
“Machete Amnesty”, Sept. 1 to Nov. 30. After citizens face up to two years
incarceration if they are found with a Machete.
.
After previously outlawing guns, criminals and nut cases fell back to next
most lethal means to achieve what they want. Will fillet, bread, carving,
knives or sharpened butter knives be next to be outlawed ? ? ?
An when the switch is made to, oh say Molotov Cocktails, will it be petrol
or glass bottles that will be banned.
.
Could it be down under, politicians are little different in level of intellect than our
elected CA democrat politicians always taking simplest way, requiring least
amount of effort on their part ? ? ?
.
Would seem Australia has same infestation as CA, shallow thinking politicians.
