BART To Implement Minor Schedule Changes Starting Aug.11 For “Big Sync”

BART will make minor schedule adjustments beginning Aug. 11, as part of a coordinated effort among Bay Area transit agencies to improve transfer times and regional connectivity, officials said. While most changes involve shifts of only a few minutes, riders are encouraged to check updated schedules before traveling. The adjustments aim to speed up key connections, including a reduced wait time at the BART to Antioch transfer platform. Meanwhile, Dwell times will increase at Millbrae and Dublin stations to improve reliability for transfers with Caltrain, SamTrans, and LAVTA Wheels, a press release noted. LAVTA-BART commuters will benefit from faster trips to San Francisco, saving up to 17 minutes during peak hours on certain routes. BART will also provide more evenly spaced trains on the Orange and Green lines to aid connections with VTA, AC Transit, and Union City Transit. The changes are part of the region’s third “Big Sync,” a collaborative initiative among transit agencies to align schedule updates every January and August, BART officials said.

Well this is all good until the old bart system breaks down system wide or a train derails.

What about their commitment for post covid for 10 car trains and more trains at major commute times?
