School’s In, Side Door’s Out – Lucky On Clayton Rd. In Concord Closes One Entrance/Exit For A Few Hours A Day To Curb Five-Finger Discounts

Starting August 7, the side entrance/exit at Lucky on Clayton Rd. in Concord (the one closest to McCaulou’s) will be closed from 3 p.m. – 4 p.m. Why? Because school’s back in session, and store employees say they don’t want high school students to turn that door into a fast track for theft. All shoppers will need to use the main entrance/exit closest to Alberta Way.

it was closed for years, why bother now to open it? they have installed rails, placed a guard at the entrance, limited the amount of kids that are allowed….

Only because of Covid, it was always open prior as I prefer that entrance/exit. Open them both back up and enforce theft laws on the books it’s pretty simple. Not anyone elses fault these children were brought up without morals or standards why should we have to pay the price?

…. sad but unfortunately understandable

That entrance hasn’t been open for years.

I was going to say. I’ve tried to use that entrance several times because I parked on that side where there’s easier parking, and the door was closed so I had to walk way around to the main entry.

Doors closed when the covid hoax hit.

Precisely it was because it was open season for thieves thanks to those in charge. Open them both back up!

I’ve been using that door off/on when it’s available. Unfortunately, when school is in session, kids tend to congregate at the entrances en masse. I’ve noticed Lucky’s sometimes has additional temporary barriers in the store during the hours that kids are around. The candy isle, for example, is half blocked during certain times. I’m not sure the level of theft they’re experiencing, but it hurts the store when there’s too much of it. Would hate to see Lucky’s close. I have seen theft at the local Safeway stores. People just grab stuff and walk out.

Just think about what stores could open in that shopping center if Lucky wasn’t there with their exclusive grocery contract.
