The following is from Governor Newsom:
“The California Department of Cannabis Control has completed 111 operations this year to take down illegal cannabis operations undermining our state’s legal, regulated market. We owe it to California businesses and consumers to hold these bad actors accountable at every chance.”
Two single family homes on my street have been converted into full indoor grows. A few neighbors called the city and they did nothing.
One of the houses, the owners were pulling the kitchen and bathrooms out, changing the windows to restrict visibility and made changes to the roof. A neighbor is a contractor and called the code inspectors, who eventually did an inspection and all they did was told the grow house owner that he needed to stop the modifications and get permits.
They just continued as soon as he left.
They are everywhere! My friend is a PG&E Electric Service Man in the East County area. He gets all kinks of calls to those “grow houses” with electrical overload problems. …… almost all of them are Asians!!
Who would have thought that legalizing pot would not have created more crime, and
cost the taxpayers more money? Only a Dem thinks that way. And stop calling criminals
“bad actors.” An actor is a professional who performs in movies, TV, and on stage.
They aren’t even pretending it’s an issue of morality. The important thing is that they make money from the drug.
Newscum doesn’t just tax everything – he taxes the tax!
Newscum does not care about them growing it, he just wants the tax on the permits to grow, Permits to sell, the sales tax on the sales, the kickbacks etc ….
But I think he is looking at this all wrong. He should just collect all the confiscated product and then sell it out the back door of his winery. He does need to find another source of income since the train to nowhere deal is being shut down by President Trump. Think of it, no overhead, he just continues to use the illegals at his property to sell it for him. No manufacturing costs, as he just takes it from the DIY folks.
That quote makes me want to take a hit of some black market stuff. Politicians, mostly with no real life experience, thought they would legalize something and it would be a windfall for the coffers. More tax revenue for them to use in swaying voters. They probably wet their pants when it passed. Go look up all the quotes from them afterward. With no life experience they forgot a market already existed for the product. When they launched a competing ‘legal’ market with a high tax rate they don’t understand why all the existing customers buy it cheaper from the black market where they have been buying it for years, DUH!
For Newsom, taxpayers are nothing more than an ATM. As he has driven out so many taxpayers, especially big ones, he has to create new ones. And since nobody moves to California on purpose anymore, he has to go after the little guys already in residence.
Too little too late however.
