A former member of the Mt. Diablo Unified School District’s Board of Education is returning to serve on the board after being provisionally appointed this week, according to the district. Brian Lawrence was selected to represent Trustee Area 4, which includes parts of Concord, Walnut Creek and Clayton, and was sworn into office provisionally Monday by district Superintendent Adam Clark. The appointment will become permanent unless a petition calling for a special election is filed with the county superintendent of schools within 30 days, district officials said. Lawrence is replacing former trustee Cherise Khaund, who stepped down from the board in June after accepting a position on the Walnut Creek Planning Commission. Lawrence previously served on the school board from 2012 to 2020. His two daughters are currently high school students in the district while his two sons are in college, MDUSD officials said.

This guy was a DISASTER on his first go around…. Why?

Vindex,
.
It’s because the other 4 sitting Mt. Diablo Unified School District Board of Education members think just like him and they are the ones who got to choose who would fill the vacancy. They don’t want any diversity of thought on the Board, because they view diversity of thought as dangerous.

Great way to get back on the board without having to be elected.
