A 3-year-old child was struck by a vehicle and airlifted to the hospital just before noon on Wednesday on Clayton Rd near the Black Diamond Trail in Clayton. The child was on the ground but breathing when police arrived on scene. Police have not released further details on the crash.

People speed down that road all the time. Really sad about the child.
even at 45mph if someone steps out in the road it is a done deal. so sad.

The lady in the vehicle didn’t even appear to hit the brakes and blew thru the red light. They had valid green walk to cross the street in the crosswalk and she blew straight thru the red Into the boy. She did stay onsite at least, unknown if alcohol was a factor. He is still in the hospital and stable.
Maybe cell phone was a factor?
